A Comparison of the Decline of Han China and the Roman Empire The decline of China and Rome both shared similar economic strife in that they were both subject to barbarian and nomadic invasions, therefore having to spend large amounts of money on frontier defense; however, they differed in that the Han Empire collapsed in part due to the high taxes imposed on the peasant class resulting in a large peasant rebellion, such as the Yellow Turbans, while in Rome tax collections was in danger of abandonment as residents of the empire were few in number and in financial difficulty. In addition, the two empires were similar socially because of large epidemics, diseases, and plagues that caused a population decrease.

C. they caused military failure
D. they encouraged soldiers to stop fighting

Answers

Answer: a

Explanation: i just answered it on my test

Civil War revivals were unique because they were held by both sides of the conflict. Thus, the correct answer is option A.

What was the Civil war?

The American Civil War was a civil war that took place in the United States. It was fought between the Union and the Confederacy, which was formed by secessionist states.

During the American Civil War (1861-1865), religious revivals were marked by surges in religious interest and observance among large numbers of soldiers in both the Union and Confederate armies.

Despite the fact that they occurred not long after the Second Great Awakening, which was primarily a Baptist and Methodist phenomenon, the soldier revivals were ecumenical and cross-class in nature.

Therefore, Civil War revivals were held by both sides of the conflict.

What if the Schlieffen Plan Succeeded? (WW1)

Answers

The Schlieffen Plan, devised a decade before the start of World War I, was a failed strategy for Germany to win World War I. The Schlieffen Plan, devised a decade before the start of World War I, was a failed strategy for Germany to win World War I.

If the Schlieffen Plan had succeeded then assuming the war started on 1 August 1914 then the war probably be finished by 1 October 1914 with an armistice followed by a peace conference. The answers so far have suggested that the Germans would take large chucks of France as part of the peace settlement. However I do not subscribe to this view! The fact that when the war started on 1 August 1914 nobody, French, Germans or Russians had any war aims (They all started to think of war aims in 1915!) and that since it was a short albeit bloody war (although somewhat smaller that the eventually butcher’s bill after four and a quarter years), the Germans would probably go for a treaty that saw a reduction of the French Peacetime Army and the demobilisation and demolition of the French frontier fortifications, and possibly a buffer demilitarised zone on the border.

Assuming the Russians would sue for peace with the French collapse, then a similar peace would be demanded from the Russians.

One should remember that the harsh peace terms demanded by the Allies in 1919 and the theoretical terms sort by the Germans if they had won were based on the number of casualties, especially deaths, and the over all financial cost of four and a quarter years instead of two months. Also remember that the German wars of unification were planned with the aims of taking land to increase the size of and the founding of the German Empire which was not the case with the Great War.
