Question: Describe how the weather is a symbol of the events in Act 2 of Shakespeare’s King Lear.

Answers

Answer:

In Act 3, as Lear wanders through a desolate heath, a terrible storm rages overhead, strongly but ambiguously symbolic. The storm reflects Lear's inner turmoil and escalating madness in part: it is a physical, turbulent natural reflection of Lear's internal turmoil. At the same time, the storm embodies nature's awesome power, forcing the powerless king to acknowledge his mortality and human frailty for the first time, and to cultivate a sense of humility. The storm could also represent divine vengeance as if nature is enraged by the events of the play. Finally, the weather chaos represents Lear's Britain's political chaos.

please help me write a debate on our forefathers upheld our cultural values more than these generation

Answers

Why have our forefathers upheld the cultural values that we have more than this current generation? Well, our forefathers have probably lived longer than we are, so they have gone through more things than we have. Like being in wars and doing things that they wished that they hadn't done. In 2021, we have electronics and the amount of tradition in them are slowly fading away. The more electronics that we use, the closer and more connected that we are to them. However, our forefathers never had these privileges.

Instead, they played with other things, more natural-based and not electronic-based. Such as playing tag and not playing some game on an illegal site. The cultural values that they made are still being used, but they are being picked by the tree and being replaced by other things.

The beliefs that our forefathers believed in might be different from what we believe in right now. They were not reliant on electronics and having a better picture than this person. All they needed to do was survive. Hence having cultural values being more important during those times.

They knew that if they believed in this certain thing, then this will come out of it. Like filters on a phone, if you use this filter, then the picture will look different in a way. But filters on a picture aren't what make and sustain cultural values.

The more focused we are on electronics, the higher chance your brain will get corrupted from the possibly false information that you have entered into your brain. You see more than you hear, and you hear more than your listen.

You will only listen if nothing is bothering you from it or if it is a topic that you are interested in, right? So, our forefathers didn't have electronics to move them away from doing what they were supposed to do, unlike now, we have all of these different apps that will move the minds of children.

Our future generation's minds can and will be destroyed if we do not change the way that we are living right now. We will only change the future if you change yourself.

Most of our forefathers' beliefs back then were to do good things, so that good things will come out. The current generation's beliefs are to look the prettiest and be the richest person in the world. It doesn't matter what deeds you did, if matters how you look. The amount of money in your bank account, that is what matters. That is why our forefathers have helped sustain the cultural values that we have now. It is because they were devoted to them and not dedicated to the internet.

Shay explains that her future career goal is to be a “ marine biologist. Somebody’s gotta care for all the stuff underwater that nobody can see. It's a beautiful world down there, full of living things that most folks don't understand.” (Reynolds 3) Why do you think Shay wants to be a marine biologist? How do you think her career goal relates to what is happening in her community?

Answers

I think Shay wants to be a marine biologist because the people around her don't take care of the ocean. For example, she says "most folks don't understand". She probably lives somewhere by the coast and gets to see the ocean a lot.

At school, we are taking tests to see where we are at, all of the teachers said “Do your best!” all at the same time, which was kind of creepy. Later, at home, I told my mom about my day, and how strict some of my teachers were. My mom said “Don’t worry about those teachers, once you grow up, you won’t have to see them again.”. Then she just went on and on about her childhood, and how it was just like mine. A few hours later, we got takeout for dinner, I got the steak, I think there was a little too much salt in it, so it didn’t taste that good. A week has passed and I decided to look at my grades, it was all good until I saw a C-. I said “I need to bring up this grade before my mom sees it. She’s always wanted to see me get ahead in life, so I will do it for her.”

Select the correct text in the passage.
Which detail in the text best refines the idea that the theremin is challenging to play?

The Theremin

The theremin is one of the earliest electronic musical instruments and is played without any form of physical contact between the musician and the instrument. The Russian physicist Leon Theremin invented this instrument in 1920, and he exhibited his innovation all over the world. The instrument has an unusual appearance and consists of two metal antennas. The upright antenna controls the pitch, and the loop antenna controls the volume. The musician moves his hands over the antennas to create electrical signals,, which are magnified through the instrument and relayed to the loudspeaker. The theremin sounds ethereal and transports the listener to another world.
The instrument became very popular in the 1930s, but it soon faded into obscurity due to a lack of interest. However, it was revived in the 1990s, and since then, it has been featured in the soundtracks of many movies. Many composers have created musical symphonies that showcase the unique notes of the theremin. It is one of the most difficult instruments to master because even a proficient player requires a lot of practice to control the intonation of the musical notes. Today, many enthusiasts also build theremins as a hobby using building kits available online.

So while the U.S. tends to go all out celebrating freedom on the Fourth of July, alternate independence commemorations held a day later often draw attention to a different side of that story, with readings of the Frederick Douglass speech best known today as “What to the Slave is the Fourth of July?”

In this excerpt, Wiesel describes how his fellow inmates at Auschwitz behaved in the barracks.

excerpt from Night by Elie Wiesel

Some of the men spoke of God: His mysterious ways, the sins of the Jewish people, and the redemption to come. As for me, I had ceased to pray. I concurred with Job! I was not denying His existence, but I doubted His absolute justice.

What does this excerpt imply about Wiesel?

He longs to believe in God as he once did.

His faith in God has been deeply shaken by his experiences.

He considers his fellow inmates to be naive and foolish.

His religion is more important to him now than ever before.

Answers

His faith in God was shaken by this experience. What he's saying in that paragraph is "I believe God exists but why does he let us suffer?" Due to this he stopped praying. He didn't think there was any point if God didn't help. He'd lost faith in a merciful God.

Answer:

His Faith in God has been deeply shaken by his experiences

Explanation:

when he says he ceased to pray its implies he doesn't believe in god but when he said he was not denying his existence but his absolute justice, I believe it means he had been wronged for no reason and eh blames god for it, for if god was truly omnipotent he could have stopped it. but this is jusat my interpretation, I haven't read the book so if anything you should compare with other answers, if they are like this one then this is correct

What is Subordinate clause?

Supporting clauses, sometimes referred to as dependent clauses, give further information; they are unable to stand alone. For instance, the bolded text, or the subordinate clause, offers more information to the main phrase in the sentence "unlike my brother, I don't eat meat."

The three different categories of subordinate clauses are noun, adjective, and adverb clauses. Each of these statements is introduced with certain terms.

I strolled through the park, which functions as both the subject and the predicate in what is referred to be a complex sentence. In the primary phrase, I am the subject and I walked is the verb. It is coherent on its own and satisfies the criteria for a key sentence.
